I may be in the middle of a financial disaster but at least it puts a smile on my face to see the truth about these crooks coming out. It was only a matter of time. Cold Stone turned out to be the ultimate scam. These guys are the Enron of franchising & some of these guys should be in jail for the lives that have been ruined because of their greed and arrogance! - "Long-Time Franchisee"

    My over 12 years experience with Doug Ducey has shown him to be anything but sleazy.

    It is unfortunate that some franchisees lost money at Cold Stone, but a large number did not. Perhaps the losers should look inward for the reasons they did not succeed.

    If you want to prevent Doug Ducey from becoming Arizona State Treasurer, send letters to the editor at the Arizona Republic (http://www.azcentral.com) or the Arizona Daily Star at (http://www.azstarnet.com). You may also want to contact his Republican opponents.

    To the first comment - You miss the point - Doug and the cold stone execs KNEW they were selling a "broken" business model (THIER own words) since as early as 2005 but continued to sell it anyway. Cold stone has one of the highest ever sba failure rates - this is a fact!! these were hard working people with families! Everything these franchisees are saying is true and I know because I lived it and I know first hand what it's like to be at one minute a top franchisee and the next to be "yesterdays trash" as one person put it...that usually happens around the time you start questioning the creamery. how can someone be called a success when
    this many lives are in ruin - he left the company a disaster, took his kahala money and ran!!

    It must be the ice cream industry. Clive Barwin (CEO) Of Melt Gelato Is another major scumbag. He must have modeled his business On Cold stones get rich quick scheme! He too has ruined many lives because of his theivery and numerous payoffs. He continues to run his "sham" of a franchise out of his residence.
    With all the lawsuits against him, one can only conclude that he, like Ducy is using stolen money to buy his way out of his legal problems.

      I dealt with that guy too!! I am surprised Barwin has not been put in jail. I think it is because he runs a rinky dink sized franchise.He has threatened anyone who speaks out against him. All his employees quit with in the first year they were hired. BEWARE.... This guy is a major crook!!!!

      Yeah, This guy is a real shady character!!! Looks like he stole another concept and is looking to cash in on someone elses hard work. I wonder when he is going to run out of stolen money?? Bushfire grill?? Really?? DO people know about this guy? If u knew how dirty this guy was you would not trust eating at his restaurants!!
